I began my journey in 2006, where I completed my Associates Degree at the University of Phoenix. In 2008, I continued on to get my Bachelors in Marriage and Family Therapy, then in 2011, I began studying for my Masters in Psychology. I graduated college with my Masters in 2014 and went on to get my Psy.D in Clinical Psychology. Grief and Loss was something that fascinated me at the time as I lost my grandma to dementia. My grandma's passing inspired me to write my thesis about grief and loss.
My experience started in 2010 working in an inpatient facility for an eating disorder residential program for about two years, from there I moved on to working as a therapist at an inpatient facility treating adolescents with dual diagnosis. I opened my private practice at that time and saw families, couples and individuals both face to face and remotely. Currently I’m working at a Sober Living treating adults with various addictions and mental health. The modalities that I use consists of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, solution focus and psychodynamic.
I love my career and what I do and treat every client in an approach that best fits them. I’m passionate about helping people live to see their full potential and maximize their strengths while accepting their weaknesses. I’ve seen some great success stories through my career and that’s what drives me to keep expanding my practice.
As a marriage and family therapist, I've come across some pretty amazing individuals who felt so lost and simply needed a sense of direction. In my 12 plus years of experience I've found that the one question people forget to ask themselves is "WHO AM I?". My mission is to encourage individuals to ask that exact same question but this time ACCEPT the voice of the inner child who is screaming to be seen and heard. So ask yourself, the next time you hear that voice seeking for attention, do I value myself enough to start making myself a priority?
